The UK Divorce rate in 2006 also highlighted that more women were granted divorce than men. This statistic however does not necessarily imply that the women are victimised in marriages, but rather that the women were the ones that actually filled for the divorce. The top three largest category for which divorce was granted have been: Unreasonable Behavioural (48,782 women were granted separation under this category as apposed to that of 13,452 men), with Separation With Consent as the second largest (18,486 women were granted separation under this category as apposed to 13,308 men) and Adultery being the third largest category for which divorce was granted (16,108 women were granted divorce as apposed to 8,828 men).
